Adventure Semester 2015

Recently we shipped Micayla off to an "Unschool Adventure" with Blake Boles.  She will be spending 10 weeks in Coloroado; the first month living off the grid in Paonia, the second month in Crested Butte, and the last week in Denver.  Every day small groups are given real life challenges to complete and then share with the whole group by the end of the day.  Although she is only a couple of days into the program, she has called us from the barn (the only place they have wifi) and it sounds like she is having fun, meeting great new people and getting creative with the challenges.  Here is the link to learn more about the Adventure Semester.  And here is the blog where different groups will post about their daily challenges.  Maybe when she gets back she will be inspired to post some photos and share more about her experience. :)

Back to Nature

If you can't find us at Get Air on a Friday, we are probably on a hike!  We typically arrange a monthly hike with Joel, a naturalist who leads and educates us on the flora and fauna of our local areas.  We have taken some amazing hikes to locations with streams, waterfalls, snow (in the winter), wildflowers, wild edibles etc. Here are some photos from a few of our latest hikes...

Time For Getting Air!

We love this place!  If you are a local friend, meet up with us here at Get Air!  Every Friday they have homeschool hour from 1 -2 p.m.  - $5 per person.
They have a dodge ball court, basketball and four foam pits!  Come and join us!
